Opportunities for School Students

Yarrawonga Health – Student Placement Programs

Yarrawonga Health is committed to supporting local young people to explore and pursue careers in the health sector. We offer entry-level pathways and placement programs across a variety of clinical and non-clinical areas, helping students to develop skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience.

Our programs include:

  • Work Experience

  • Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS)

We are a proud implementer of the Victorian Child Safe Standards, and all relevant policies and procedures apply to students undertaking placements with us.

Work Experience

If you are a student aged 15 years or older and enrolled in Years 10–12, you may be eligible for our Work Experience Program.

This program provides opportunities to explore a variety of clinical, corporate, and support roles within our health service.

Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS)

Students in Years 10–12 can participate in the VETiS Health Program, which offers nationally recognised qualifications. Current offerings include:

Certificate III in Health Services Assistance

  • Develops essential skills for providing assistance in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals and aged care.

Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community)

  • Provides the skills and knowledge to deliver person-centred care to individuals in aged care facilities and community settings.

Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance

  • Prepares students to work alongside allied health professionals in settings such as physiotherapy clinics, hospital, or rehabilitation.

Other potential programs

  • Additional Certificate III or short course opportunities may be offered based on industry needs and student interest.
