What is Health Direct Video Call (Telehealth)?

Health Direct Video Call is a secure video calling service purpose-built for health consultations. Accessed wholly via the internet, a Video Call is easy to use and you can connect with your healthcare professional from your home, work, or wherever is most convenient.  All you need is a good internet connection and a device - a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. There is no software or application downloads necessary.

The Video Call service is government funded (delivered by Healthdirect Australia) so it is free to use.

You can attend appointments through our specific health service's online clinic and wait in our own secure clinic waiting area. Your clinician will receive a notification to say you are waiting for them – no one else will know you are there - and they will then move you into a secure consultation ‘room’ to complete your session. They will be able to see you and you will see them and you can share and download documents like you would be able to in a face to face session. Once finished you can exit the internet browser and go about your day.

You can invite other people join your appointment too, even if they are not in the same room as you, just share the link with them.

How do I get an appointment?
