The Helping Hands Committee was established by the Yarrawonga Health Board and launched to the Yarrawonga Community on 27th July, 2016 at the Official opening of our renovated buildings.
The key purpose of Helping Hands is fundraising for Yarrawonga Health to assist with the provision of medical equipment and other equipment needs that will enhance services provided to the Yarrawonga/Mulwala community.
Funds are also needed for replacing hospital beds and equipment in our Community Rehabilitation Centre.
Helping Hands is dedicated to improving the quality of life of residents and patients through supporting Yarrawonga Health services.
The Helping Hands is engaging with our community groups, local businesses, service clubs, support groups, volunteers and individual community members by promoting the sale of Helping Hand decals which will help to raise some resources and importantly improve awareness in the local community of the generous support that Yarrawonga Health receives. The stickers represent a very exciting first initiative of the Helping Hands Committee.
Further over time there will be events and opportunities for all parts of the community to be involved in supporting Yarrawonga Health, including Corporate Challenge event held in conjunction with Multi Sport Festival in October, Money Spinner located at Club Mulwala, Cash Housie Bingo at Yarrawonga Golf Club Resort, and the possibility of Walk for Health, Charity Bowls and Golf events to be held at both Yarrawonga Golf Club and Black Bull Golf Club.
This Helping Hands Committee is one part of a Community Engagement strategy which is a key initiative of the new Yarrawonga Health Strategic Plan. The Community Engagement strategy has many facets and includes the development of partnerships with our corporate/business sector and community groups to encourage and provide support to Yarrawonga Health.
