People Matters Survey

People Matters Survey

Thursday, 19 October 2023

From today, this year’s People Matters Survey will be open for you to have your say on your experience of working at Yarrawonga Health.

The People Matters Survey is an annual employee opinion survey run independently of Yarrawonga Health (YH) by the Victorian Public Sector Commission.

The year’s refined survey asks for your experience about different aspects of your workplace, including equal employment opportunity, job satisfaction, career development, wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion. It’s relevant to all employees regardless of where and how you work, including on the front line.

We use the People Matters Survey to find out what we’re doing well and where we need to focus on improvement. Your voice is important to improve team culture, have an engaged workforce and help shape our hospital to support our community.

While participation is voluntary, we encourage you to take part because having your say matters.

Over the last 12 months we have acted in direct response to what you told us in the last People Matter Survey.

We have implemented a number of new initiatives and programs including:

YOU SAID WE DELIVERED
Professional Development Opportunities Yarrawonga Health has focused on improving our training capacity, implementing the new Kineo portal. Being designed and run inhouse (rather than outsourced), Yarrawonga Health has an easier ability to include new and additional training opportunities in the platform.
Additionally, our People and Culture and Clinical Education team has supported a number of staff to upskill – both in clinical, non-clinical and administrative roles. We’re continuing to look for opportunities to support staff upskilling and growing in their health careers.
Communication We’re continuing to improve our communications with staff – and from staff. We have developed a Significant Days Calendar, to showcase both to our community, and our staff, the excellent work our various teams do.
Additionally, we are developing a regular all-staff e-newsletter, to keep everyone informed on what’s happening at Yarrawonga Health.

The survey is completely anonymous, and Yarrawonga Health does not see your completed survey responses.

The Victorian Public Sector Commission runs the independent survey and uses strict rules to protect your privacy and anonymity at every stage of the survey.

You have the option to respond to demographic questions, such as age or gender, with ‘prefer not to say’.

To protect you, they:

  • de-identify all survey response data provided to us
  • only provide your YH with survey results for teams or demographic groups when they have 10 or more responses
  • don’t collect your date of birth or employee ID
  • don’t link free-text comment reporting to any other survey information.

Again, thank you for participating in this important opportunity for us to survey our workforce, and see what is going well and what we need to improve.
