COVID-19 Update

Yarrawonga Health is advising the community, that an individual who presented to Yarrawonga Health via the COVID-19 drive through testing clinic has tested positive to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.  

 The person has aquired COVID-19 within the local region and been infectious within the community.  Yarrawonga Health is continuing to monitor their wellbeing and is working with both NSW & Vic public health units. The individual is currently quarantining at home for 14 days while they recover. Contact tracing is continuing  and we are urging the community to regularly check exposure site listings via the following links:

Waste water has also been detected in Yarrawonga over the weekend.

GETTING TESTED:

COVID-19 is in our community, Yarrawonga Health is urging people to get tested. Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild, (such as fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of sense of smell, loss of taste, headache) should get tested immediately. Please note, some people with COVID-19 have reported symptoms of nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea with an accompanying headache so please do not dismiss these symptoms.

Do not delay getting a test for COVID-19 and stay at home until you receive your test result.

The Yarrawonga Health Drive through COVID-19 testing clinic operates 7 days a week 9.30am – 12.00pm and extended hours in line with community demand. Access via the Yarrawonga Fire Brigade Training ground, Woods Rd, Yarrawonga. Testing is also available at the Wangaratta Showgrounds Screening Clinic, open 8.00am – 4.30pm, NO appointments necessary.

CEO Elaine Mallows urges the community to stay vigilant during this period “May I remind the community the best way to protect yourselves and your family is to get vaccinated.  Please use the check in using the  QR code, or written check in,  wash your hands regularly, wear your mask and maintain a social distance of 1.5 metres wherever possible.”
